Examples of the CAF Emergency Fund in Action:
Cresthaven families impacted by COVID in the household receive a CAF care package containing PPE, disposable goods, cleaning supplies, food, & medicine. This kit provides essential items to help mitigate the risk of in-home transmission as well as allows the family to safely quarantine at home, limiting exposure to the community.
A Cresthaven family unexpectedly lost their apartment. Faced with the prospect homelessness, CAF helped to secure and pay for temporary housing for the family in a local hotel. Because the Cresthaven Emergency Fund was available to provide aid, the family was able to focus on finding a new home and the scholar was able to seamlessly continue attending school.
A Cresthaven mother was suddenly diagnosed with a severe illness. Unable to work and requiring hospitalization, CAF stepped in to support the family with by purchasing and delivering meals and groceries while the family focused on confronting the medical emergency.
A Cresthaven family was facing severe economic hardship. Upon learning that the scholar had no meaningful possessions at home and nowhere to sleep, CAF purchased a complete furniture set for the scholar’s bedroom. Meeting the need and adding stability to his home life, CAF was able to help improve the scholar’s success at school.
